Medieval English Banners WIP | WAB

Hmmph, I can't freehand a straight line to save my life, too old I guess.  In light of my limitations, I went with a simple Scheme for the the Army's Banners.

The Green Banner is a simplification of Sir Thomas Erpingham's (who marshaled the archers at Agincourt as well as some campaigning in Scotland prior) heraldry (and left a little vague on purpose as I don't fell like getting beat up by the hard core history folks :).

The Black/White banner is for my Low Country Pike unit.

The Archer's banners will go in one of the veteran archer units in addition to the ubiquitous St. George's Cross.

All banners are PVA stiffened painted paper. Made templates in illustrator, quick and easy to do

Adepticon 2013 WAB Hastings Redux Terrain | Update 22 Mar 13

Quick update because I'm swamped with Adepticon stuff [like a 1000 points of FOW germans who are still silver...].  Had to share though.

Mark Sommer sent me a picture of all the boards laid out together.

It brings a tear to my eye it does...

Medieval English WIP | WAB

Progress on my Medieval English for Adepticon WAB singles...

Sir Fancy Pants points out a target for the ladz...

Safe behind their defensive stakes, the archers get ready to unleash another volley...

Army so far.  Working on the last 2 units, 18 Men-at-Arms in each.  Then Banners, more than likely St George's Crosses aside from the colors of the general on the ASB.  I plan to add some more variation on the bases with some other tufts or the ilk.  Maybe some flowers here and there.

Models are all Perry's, really nice sculpts.

Thanks for looking.

Adepticon 2013 WAB Hastings Redux Terrain | Update

If you get chance, stop by Baddogz Engineering to see what Mark has been up to for the Terrain Board for the Hastings Redux WAB game, Friday night at Adepticon.

Makes me want to have a Guinness...
River still needs to be painted and edges touched up, but you can get the gist of it. You can also see the insets where a large or small bridge can go (large bridge for Adepticon), making the board very flexible.

I've been behind on blogging Mark's progress on this awesome 16' X 4' modular board, it is really something to see as it is shaping up. Wood framed foam sections that can be arranged in numerous combinations.  They will bolt together frame to create a stable playing surface.

All this from a sketch I made.

Mark can take a map or sketch and build you accurate terrain in any scale. Dude (as I date myself) has mad skills. 'nuff said. If you are looking for some truly unique or historically accurate terrain, talk to Mark.

On the Road to Cathay? | WHFB

so...WHFB fever has set in.  I love ancients, but I need a break from painting them. Plus I love to do Conversions.  I picked up the new Deamons book, looks like I need to make some units to fully bring my Nurgle Army out of retirement. Some new furies, GUO, Plague Drones, etc. Will have to clean/update the bases a bit.

What to do for a new army.

Years ago, I did some Asian Themed conversions for a client. I always liked how they looked (I'd like to think I'd do better now though...).  IMHO the theme is a nice fit for ogres.

Rhinox Riders.

WIP...

Not quite sure where I was going on these...  Note the Gnoblars...

Butcher and Bulls.
Next new army ?  Cathay. This will be fun. Will be doing a little cross blogging/challenge with master painter Kelly Kim (check out his Blog: Sable and Spray) who will be making his "Spirit Dragons" Samurai Space Marine Chapter. His concept won the GW "design a space marine chapter" contest years ago.  Sweet...

Back to the pit, need to finish Adepticon Models still.
